Interactive learning from a variety of professionals in their area of specialization related to child and family relationships. For all families in our community with children 0-10 years of age. A time for families to spend the evening together while parents share with other parents, and children can participate in their own supervised and planned activities.

  1. Cast Iron Sculpture Adult Art Class at The Hays Arts Council

    April 25, 2017, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Hays Arts Center

    Through the course of this class, participants will make a pattern from clay and learn how to make a two-part sand mold using a non-toxic binder, prepare for an iron pour, break iron, learn how to prepare a cupola furnace AND participate in an iron pour (the night of the Spring Art Walk on April 28) as well as well as learning how to finish and patina your piece (the morning of April 29 in conjunction with the pour clean up). Your supplies (sodium silicate, sand, propane, glue sticks & guns, cardboard, planks, modeling clay, iron, coke) are ALL included in this workshop fee. THIS is gonna be fun!!!! **for this class, it is very important that participants attend every meeting, so be sure to clear your calendar on these dates. . . including the Art Walk night and next morning!
